A light classical form of North Indian vocal or instrumental music; a piece in this form. Also attrib., designating this style of music.
1834N. A. Willard Treat. on Mus. Hindoostan 89 Thoomree. This is an impure dialect of the Vrujbhasha. The measure is lively, and so peculiar, that it is not mistaken by one who has heard a few songs of this class. 1914A. H. F.
