siscowet|ˈsɪskəʊɛt| Also ciscoette, ciscovet, siskawitz, -iwit, -owet, etc. [Odjibwa, meaning literally ‘cooks itself’ (Goode).] A variety of the great Lake trout of N. America, found in Lake Superior.
