Singapore|sɪŋəˈpɔər, sɪŋg-| The name of a city and island-republic (formerly, British Crown Colony) in South-East Asia, used attrib., usu. as Singapore (gin) sling, to designate a cocktail with a base of gin and cherry brandy.
