L. clypeolum, dim. of clypeum, clypeus, round shield.] A little shield; ‘term applied to the lamina or receptacle on the inner surface of which the sporangia are attached in Equisetum’ (Syd. Soc. Lex. 1882). Hence ˈclypeolar a., ‘formed like a little shield’ (Syd. Soc. Lex. 1882). ˈclypeolate a., furnished with clypeoles. |
