1728Chambers Cycl., Silver-Leaf, is that the Gold-beaters have reduced into fine, thin Leaves, to be used by Gilders, &c.1780Encycl. Brit. 3. A disease of Prunus and other woody plants caused by the fungus Stereum purpureum, which is frequently associated with a silvery sheen of the leaves and often fatal to affected branches.
