† citrul Obs. Also 5 citrulle, 6–8 citrull, 7 citral. [a. F. citrouille, OF. 13th c. citrole, in Berry citrulle (Littré), ad. It. citriuolo, med.L. citrolus, -ullus, dim. from *citro, L. citrus citron, so called from the colour.] The Water-Melon (Cucumis Citrullus); also applied (both in French and English) to the Pumpkin (Cucurbita Pepo).
