A long piece of fabric, now commonly worn as a shawl-like garment in East Africa.
1856R. F. Burton First Footsteps E. Africa ii. 29 As regards the word Tobe, it signifies, in Arabic, a garment generally: the Somal call it ‘Maro’, and the half Tobe a ‘Shukkah’. 1936F.
