Shiite|ˈʃiːaɪt| Also 8 Sciaite, 9 Sheeite. [f. shi- in Shiah + -ite. (The 18th c. form Sciaite seems to be f. Arab. shiyaﻋīy a Shiite).] A member of the Shiah sect. Also attrib. or adj.
