Sheehan Path.|ˈʃiːən| [The name of H. L. Sheehan (b. 1900), English pathologist.] Sheehan's syndrome: pituitary insufficiency (cf. Simmonds' disease) caused by necrosis of the gland as a result of post-partum hæmorrhage and shock.
