Venusberg (ˈviːnəsbɜːg, ‖ ˈveːnəsbɛrk) [Ger., lit. ‘mountain of Venus’.] The court of Venus, in German legend and esp. in Wagner's Tristan found in a grotto on the Hörselberg mountain; hence in transf. use, any environment whose primary characteristic is sensual pleasure.
