cheiranthus Bot.|kaɪˈrænθəs| [mod.L. (C. Linnæus Species Plantarum (1753) II. 661), f. Gr. χείρ hand + ἄνθος flower.] One of a genus of cruciferous plants of which the best-known representatives are the wallflower, Cheiranthus cheiri, and the Siberian wallflower, Cheiranthus allionii, with brilliant fragrant flowers.
