▪ I. † ˈcapron1 Obs. Also chappron, (capon). [a. F. capron, NF. dial. form of chaperon hood.] A hood. capron hardy [F. = bold hood or cap; cf. mad-cap, wild-cap, etc.]: an appellation for an impudent fellow.
