‖ scena|ˈʃena| [It., ad. L. scēna scene.] 1. a. A scene in an Italian opera; the words and music of the scene. b. A composition consisting largely of recitative of a dramatic and impassioned character, for one or more voices with accompaniment; either forming part of an opera, or composed separately for the concert-room.
