scaife local.|skeɪf| Also scafe, skief, skife, skeef (see E.D.D.). [? a. Du. schijf (= G. scheibe), disk, wheel. Cf. skeith.] 1. A thin iron wheel, sharp at the edge, used in some ploughs in place of or in front of the coulter. Also attrib.
