sanserif Typog.|sænˈsɛrɪf| Also sans serif, sansserif(f, -surryph, -ceriph. [Prob. f. sans prep. + serif (q.v.). The word serif, however, has not hitherto been found till much later than the first appearance of sanserif, and it has been suggested that it may have been evolved from the supposed compound.] A form of type without serifs: called also grotesque.
