Sahelian, a.|səˈhiːlɪən| [f. Sahel, proper name of the region + -ian.] Of, pertaining to, or designating the belt of land in West Africa south of the Sahara desert which comprises parts of Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, and Chad and is mostly savannah.
