‖ rupia Path.|ˈruːpɪə| [mod.L. (Bateman), f. Gr. ῥύπος dirt, filth.] A skin disease characterized by an eruption of broad, flattish, scattered vesicles, succeeded by thick ulcerating scabs. Good Study Med. (1822) points out that the spelling rhypia would have been more in accordance with analogy.
