psychostasy|-ˈɒstəsɪ| Also in Gr. form psychostasia |-ˈsteɪzɪə|. [ad. Gr. ψῡχοστασία, f. ψῡχή life, soul + στάσις putting, setting, weighing.] A weighing of souls; in Anc. Mythol. supposed to take place during a combat, the combatant having the lighter soul being slain.
