1. In musical notation: each of the lines of a bass stave; the bass stave itself. Now rare.

Music i. iii. 19 To this intermediate line, we therefore sometimes add the two lowest lines of the Treble staff, and the two uppermost of the Bass staff; and sometimes more of the Bass lines, and fewer of the treble. 1828Amer.
