ritzy, a. colloq. (orig. U.S.).|ˈrɪtsɪ| Also Ritzy. [f. Ritz n. + -y1.] a. (In a complimentary sense.) Having class, poise, or polish; smart, stylish, glamorous, ‘classy’. b. (In a derogatory sense.) Of persons: haughty, pretentious, ostentatious; of things: flashy, pretentious-looking.
