rinneite Min.|ˈrɪnəaɪt| [a. G. rinneit (H. E. Boeke 1908, in Chem. Zeitung XXXII. 1228), f. the name of Friedrich Rinne (1863–1933), German mineralogist: see -ite1.] A rhombohedral chloride of iron, potassium, and sodium, K3FeNaCl6, which is known as colourless, pale rose, violet, or yellow granular masses from saline deposits, and can be prepared artificially.
