attollent, a. and n.|əˈtɒlənt| [ad. L. attollentem, pr. pple. of attollĕre: see attol v.] A. adj. Raising, lifting up; spec. applied to muscles whose function is to raise various parts of the body. (The L. attollens is chiefly used.) B. n. A muscle of this kind.
