Richard's pipit|ˈrɪtʃədz| [tr. F. pipi Richard (L. J. P. Vieillot in Nouveau Dict. d'Hist. Nat. (1818) XXVI. 491), named after Monsieur Richard, an amateur ornithologist of Lunéville, who first made it known.] A large pipit, Anthus novæseelandiæ (which includes the former A. richardi), found in large areas of the Palæarctic region.
