rhytidome Bot.|ˈrɪtɪdəʊm| Also (rare) rhitidome. [ad. mod.L. rhytidōma, a. Gr. ῥυτίδωµα, f. ῥυτιδοῦν, f. ῥυτιδ-, ῥυτίς wrinkle.] The outer part of the bark of a woody plant, composed of layers of dead phloem and cork.
