† rhetoriˈcation Obs. Also 7 ret-. [ad. L. rhētoricātiōn-em, n. of action f. rhētoricārī to rhetoricate.] The action of speaking or writing rhetorically; usually with a and pl., a piece of rhetoric, a rhetorical flourish.
