protectoral, a. (n.)|prəʊˈtɛktərəl| [f. as prec. + -al1: cf. doctoral, electoral, pastoral. So F. protectoral (16th c. in Littré).] Of or pertaining to a protector, esp. in Hist. to the Protector of a kingdom or commonwealth.
