turnback, n. and a.|ˈtɜːnbæk| [f. the verbal phr. turn back (turn v. 70).] One who or that which turns back or is turned back; an act of turning back. a. n. (a) One who faint-heartedly retreats, or gives up an enterprise. (b) That part of anything which is folded back. (c) The return of something borrowed or rented. (d) A reduction in price; a reversal.
