prehnite Min.|ˈprɛnaɪt| [ad. G. prehnit (Werner 1789), f. the name of Colonel von Prehn, who brought it from the Cape of Good Hope: see -ite1 2 b.] A hydrous silicate of aluminium and calcium, found in more or less globular masses of a pale green colour and vitreous lustre.
