pneumootocous, a. Zool.|pnjuːməʊˈɒtəkəs, njuː-| Also pneuˈmotocous. [f. mod.L. Pneumōotoca, Pneumōtoca (Owen), f. pneumo- b + Gr. ᾠοτόκος egg-laying, oviparous.] Belonging to the Pneumootoca, or vertebrates that breathe air by means of lungs, and lay eggs, as birds and reptiles.
