ˈplacodine Min. Also placodite. [ad. Ger. plakodin (A. Breithaupt 1841), f. Gr. πλακώδης flat, cake like, f. πλάξ, πλακ- tablet, cake.] A name given, on the supposition of its being a native mineral, to an arsenide of nickel, Ni4As2, now considered to be a furnace-product.
