pirssonite Min.|ˈpɜːs-, ˈpɪəsənaɪt| [f. the name of L. V. Pirsson (1860–1919), U.S. geologist: see -ite1.] A hydrated carbonate of sodium and calcium, Na2Ca(CO3)2.2H2O, occurring as brittle, colourless to white, orthorhombic crystals that are pyroelectric.
