† phœnigm Obs. [ad. med.L. phœnigmus, a. Gr. ϕοινιγµός irritation of the skin by rubefacients, f. ϕοινίσσειν to redden, f. ϕοῖνιξ crimson: cf. F. phénigme.] Reddening of the skin; also, a medicinal application causing this.
