philologize, v. rare.|fɪˈlɒlədʒaɪz| [f. Gr. ϕιλόλογ-ος + -ize.] intr. To play the philologist; to deal in philology (i.e. either literary scholarship, or linguistic science). Also trans. to bring into some condition by philologizing.
