G. perchloräthylen, f. per- per-1 5 + chlor- chloro- + äthylen ethylene.] A colourless, non-flammable, toxic liquid, C2Cl4, which is widely used as a solvent, esp. in dry cleaning fluid, and medicinally for the treatment of worm infestations; = tetrachloroethylene.
