penduline, a. (n.)|ˈpɛndjʊlaɪn| [a. F. penduline (Buffon) = It. pendolina ‘a kind of birde’ (Florio), mod.L. pendulīn-us, f. pendul-us: see pendulous and -ine1.] 1. Applied to a bird that builds a pendulous nest, esp. the penduline titmouse of Southern and Eastern Europe (ægithalus pendulinus).
