payos, n. pl. Chiefly N. Amer.|ˈpeɪəs| Also payas, peyas, peyiss, etc. [a. Yiddish peyes, f. Heb. pē'ōṯ, pl. of pē'āh corner: see Lev. xix. 27.] Uncut ear-locks worn by male Orthodox Jews.
