† ˈpatefy, v. Obs. Also 6–7 -ify. [ad. L. patefac-ĕre to make open, to open, f. patē-re to be open + facĕre to make: cf. liquefy, and see -fy.] trans. To make open; to disclose, manifest, reveal to the eye or mind.
