‖ paraˈstigma Entom. [mod.L., f. Gr. παρα- beside + στίγµα prick, point, spot: see stigma.] A chitinous spot situated beside the stigma on the wings of certain insects, as dragon-flies. So parastigˈmatic a., situated beside the stigma; pertaining to the parastigma.
