‖ abaton Greek Antiq.|ˈæbətən| [a. Gr. ἄβατον, neut. sing. of ἄβατος not to be trodden, f. ἀ- priv. + βατός accessible (βαίνειν to walk, go).] An enclosure attached to a temple of Asclepios, where patients slept.
