[ad. L. parapēgma, pl. -pēgmata, a. Gr. παράπηγµα, -πήγµατα, a thing fixed beside or near, a tablet, calendar, etc., f. παρα- beside + πῆγµα anything fastened. Cf. mod.F. parapegme.]
A tablet set up inscribed with some public information or announcement, as a law, a proclamation, or a calendar of annals or astronomical observations; a canon, rule, or precept; a fixed date or epoch.
