‖ palikar|ˈpælɪkɑː(r)| Also pallecar. [ad. mod.Gr. παλικάρι, παλληκάρι lad, f. Gr. πάλλαξ, -ηξ youth; in F. palikare.] A member of the band of a Greek or Albanian military chief, esp. during the war of Independence.
