overˈcomer [f. prec. + -er1.] 1. One who overcomes; a conqueror, vanquisher.

An appellation assumed by a religious sect which was started in U.S. in 1881 and founded a colony at Jerusalem in Palestine. The name is derived from their interpretation of the promises made to ‘him that overcometh’ in Rev. ii, iii.
