orientite Min.|ɔərɪˈɛntaɪt| [f. Orient-e, the name of the province in Cuba where it was first found + -ite1.] A hydrated silicate of calcium and manganese, Ca4MnIII4Si5O20.4H2O, found as light brown or pink orthorhombic crystals.
