ˈorder-book [f. order n. + book.] A book in which orders are entered. spec. a. In the army, a book (of which there is one for each company) in which the orderly sergeants enter general and regimental orders. b. In the navy, a book kept on a man-of-war for recording occasional orders of the commander. c. In the House of Commons, a book in which motions to be submitted to the House must be entered. d. In business, a book in which the orders of customers are entered. Also transf., the amount of orders to be fulfilled; also fig.
