north-north-east, adv. etc. [= Du. noordnoordoost, G. and Sw. nordnordost; also F. nord-nord-est, It. nortnortest, Sp. and Pg. nornordeste.] In the direction lying midway between north and north-east. Also as n. and adj. (cf. north-east).
