ˈaphronitre ? Obs. [ad. L. aphronitrum, a. Gr. ἀϕρόνιτρον, better ἀϕρὸς νίτρου, spuma nitri.] ‘Foam of nitre’; a name formerly applied to the sulphur salts of various alkalis and earths.
