natron|ˈneɪtrən, ˈnætrən| [a. F. natron (1665), a. Sp. natron, ad. Arab. naṭrūn, niṭrūn, ad. Gr. νίτρον nitre. Cf. anatron.] Native sesquicarbonate of soda, occurring in solution or as a deposit (mixed with other substances) in various parts of the world.
