morpholine Chem.|ˈmɔːfəliːn| [ad. G. morpholin (L. Knorr 1889, in Ber. d. Deut. Chem. Ges. XXII. 2083), f. morphin morphine n. with insertion of -ol -ol.] A cyclic amine, CH2CH2NHCH2CH2O, which is a hygroscopic oil used as a solvent for resins and dyestuffs and whose fatty-acid salts are emulsifying soaps used in floor polishes.
