methimazole, n. Pharm.|mɛˈθɪməzəʊl| [f. methyl n. + imidazole n.] An imidazole derivative with antithyroid properties, given orally in the treatment of hyperthyroidism; 1-methylimidazole-2-thiol, C3H2N2(CH3)(SH) .
