‖ Metatheria, n. pl. Zool.|mɛtəˈθɪərɪə| [mod.L., f. Gr. µετα- meta- + θηρίον animal.] Huxley's term (correlative with Prototheria and Eutheria) for the Marsupials. Hence metaˈtherian a., belonging to the Metatheria; n., an animal of this division.
